Credibled offers more than 12 check types, including: Canadian criminal record checks (Standard and Enhanced), US criminal checks (Base, Single County, Unlimited), international criminal record checks across more than 200 jurisdictions, reference checks, ID verification, fraud detection, employment verification, education verification, credential verification, public records search, credit checks, driver’s abstracts, and social media screening.
Most of our Canadian criminal record checks come back in about 15 minutes. The check is run against the RCMP’s Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) system, with the Enhanced version also pulling from the PIP and Niche databases.
The Standard check searches the RCMP CPIC database. The Enhanced check searches CPIC plus the PIP (Police Information Portal) and Niche records management systems, giving you a wider net of police-held information. Both include ID verification in the price.
Yes. Credibled offers US criminal checks at three levels: Base (national criminal database plus sex offender search), Single County (state or county search at one current address), and Unlimited (state or county search across all addresses associated with the candidate). Applicable court access fees are passed through transparently.
Yes. Credibled runs criminal record and identity checks across more than 200 jurisdictions worldwide. Whether your candidate is in Toronto, Atlanta, or Manila, you run the check from one dashboard with one invoice.
Yes. Credibled’s reference checks are fully automated and digital. Candidates submit references, Credibled handles the outreach and follow-up automatically with reminders sent every 24 hours for up to 10 days. Each reference check includes a customisable questionnaire, built-in fraud detection, and lead generation that surfaces hiring managers from those references as warm leads for your sales or recruiting team.
Yes. Credibled’s AI-based social media screening reviews a candidate’s public posts and flags content across categories including hate speech, insults, bullying, offensive language, violence, drug use, and other risk indicators. You can also configure custom keywords. Only relevant flagged content appears in the report, not every post, picture, or comment. Reports are typically delivered in under an hour.
Social media screening is not available in Québec. Where it is available, Credibled’s screening is compliant with applicable federal, provincial, and local privacy laws, and the platform only accesses publicly available information. Candidate consent is required before any screening starts.
Yes. Credibled confirms a candidate’s stated work history including position held and employment dates. Current employers are only contacted with explicit candidate permission. Our team makes three to five reasonable attempts over three business days to reach each previous employer. All outreach attempts and outcomes are recorded in the candidate’s report.
Yes. Credibled runs education verification (degrees, diplomas, dates of attendance) and credential verification (professional licences, certifications, designations). Both are bundled into Credibled’s all-in-one suite, so you do not need a separate vendor for either.
Pass-through access fees are charges that some third parties impose for accessing their records. Credibled passes these through at cost without markup. They apply to three categories only:
- Education verifications — fees vary by country and institution. For example, Canadian universities charge CA$17 to CA$120, US institutions charge US$10 to US$50.
- Employment verifications — currently US$48.95 per Canadian employer verification, US$29.95 to US$119.90 per US employer verification.
- US criminal court access fees — vary by state and county, typically US$0.50 to US$98 per search.
Canadian criminal record checks have no pass-through access fees. The price you see is the full price.

Yes. Every check requires the candidate’s explicit consent before it starts. Candidates review and authorise each check type through a digital consent flow before any data is collected or screened.
Credibled uses SSL encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and is hosted on AWS infrastructure. Data is handled according to PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws. Access controls, audit trails, and team permissions are built into the platform.
