RCMP criminal record checks, answered

Is this an RCMP criminal record check?
It is a name-based search of the RCMP National Repository of Criminal Records, run through the Canadian Police Information Centre by an accredited police service, which issues your certificate. That is what most employers mean when they ask for an RCMP check. It is not the fingerprint-based certified check that the RCMP issues itself for immigration and overseas use.
Can I get an RCMP criminal record check online?

When that happens, fingerprint confirmation is advised, which is done in person and takes longer. It is rare, and you hear about it before anyone else does.
